Calling All Beau Gosses! Part Deux

Romain Duris and Vanessa Paradis en amoureux
I do have to admit that there are some pleasantly seductive “lookers” after all in French movies in romantic roles. There is, for example,

Romain Duris…
…whom non-Frenchies may recognize from Kate Hudson and Naomi Watts’ often-accurate Hollywood film about Americans in Paris: Le Divorce.
Then there is Louis Garrel:

…son of a famous French filmmaker.
Americans will shortly discover Omar Sy (right), who is grand and graceful in Intouchables:

where he pairs with another je-ne-comprends-pas actor, François Cluzet (left, above), who is a Dustin Hoffman doppelganger.

Oh-so Jean Reno….
Of course I’ve already mentioned Jean Reno (above), who is sexy yet unconventionally good-looking. Americans, you know him as the father-figure with incestual overtones and protector of borderline-pedophile-porn Natalie Portman in The Professional, known as Léon in French:

Maybe desire and attraction are so personal and ephemeral that there is no concrete way to really understand why some people would choose Luchini over Louis… Quoi qu’il en soit, I’ll choose Romain, Omar and Jean over the other guys any day!
Word of the Day:
Depends, as in depends on his personality if I will find him attractive or not… (but if he has a mustache, he probably is!)
In (at French theaters actuellement): American films Django and Skyfall, both with not-very-handsome actors
Out (at French theaters actuellement): French films like Alceste à Bicyclette and Marriage à Mendoza, also with not-very-handsome actors
Les Mots:
En amoureux: in love
Je ne comprends pas!: I don’t get it!
BG: short for beau gosse
Très: very
Quo qu’il en soit: Whatever, whatever it is…
Actuellement: Currently
